Centris FCU to Mark 90th Birthday With Concert

OMAHA, Neb., -- Centris Federal Credit Union is marking its 90th year of business by hosting the Centris Music Fest at Stinson Park located in Aksarben Village on July 27.

The event will be free for the community.

Centris was the 28th federally chartered credit union founded in Omaha in 1934 by employees of the Omaha Telephone Company.

“Part of our history is that we were founded the very same year that the Federal Credit Union Act was passed by Congress,” President and CEO Steve Swanstrom said in a statement. “For 90 years we have served the banking needs of those who lived or worked in many Nebraska and western Iowa communities. This is a milestone that marks years of service to our members, families, and businesses and we want to share this celebration with the community who provided us our foundation for success.”

Centris Music Fest will feature multiple local bands playing throughout the day, face painting, the Centris Chill Zone, balloon art, yard games and other activities for the daylong celebration. The concert event begins at 2 p.m. and will end with a special Centris fireworks show at 10 p.m.

In addition to the 90th anniversary concert on July 27, Centris is the sponsor of the entire summer concert series at Stinson Park. Centris Presents Saturdays at Stinson, a 13-concert series continues through August 31.
