WATERFORD, Conn.– Charter Oak Federal Credit Union has announced the promotion of Lori Wong, who has extensive banking and accounting experience, to Vice President-Financial Controller of the $986 million dollar credit union. In addition, Charter Oak announced the promotion of Lauren Blanda to Commercial Credit Analyst in its growing Business Lending operations.
Wong has been with Charter Oak since 2007 and was promoted to Assistant Vice President in 2011. Before joining Charter Oak, Wong had served as the Controller and Bank Officer for a local community bank. "Lori brings a wealth of accounting and banking knowledge to her job, and her talents as Charter Oak's Financial Controller will serve us well as we continue our rapid growth as eastern Connecticut's leading financial services provider," said Brian A. Orenstein, Charter Oak's President and Chief Executive Officer. Wong is a graduate of Bryant University in Smithfield, R.I., with a Bachelor of Science Degree in accounting and she also holds a Master's Degree in Business Administration.
Blanda, Charter Oak's new Commercial Credit Analyst, joined the credit union in 2015 as a Teller and moved to Charter Oak's Business Lending Department as a Junior Commercial Credit Analyst the following year. Before joining Charter Oak, she worked for a large money-center bank.
"Lauren's promotion is a reflection of her increasing abilities and responsibilities as a commercial analyst as well as the continuing expansion that we're seeing in Charter Oak's Business Lending operations," said Orenstein.
Blanda is a graduate of Salve Regina University in Newport, R.I., with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration and a Bachelor of Science Degree in Financial Management. In addition, she holds a Master's Degree in Business Administration.
