WATERFORD, Conn. –Charter Oak Federal Credit Union donated $23,800 to community organizations throughout New London and Windham counties as part of its third quarter Community Giving Grants disbursement.
Grant recipients included the Florence Griswold Museum, H.H. Ellis Technical Booster Club Parent Faculty Organization, Higher Edge, Hygienic Art, Inc., Light House Voc-Ed Center, Martin House, Inc., New London High School Music Boosters, Inc., New London Youth Affairs, Thames River Community Service, Inc., Thames Valley Council for Community Action, Inc., and Sofia Sees Hope.
Through its sponsorship program, the credit union supports a variety of programs, events and community groups that may not fall under the 501(c) category. In addition, the credit union awards 45 college scholarships annually, totaling $90,000. The scholarship program will go live in January and all student-members are encouraged to apply.
