WATERFORD, Conn. – The Board of Directors of Charter Oak Federal Credit Union has appointed Annette Janovic to serve on the seven-member board that oversees eastern Connecticut’s largest credit union.
Janovic had been serving as a member of Charter Oak’s Supervisory Committee, which has board oversight and audit responsibilities, since January 2012. She is a Senior Business Consultant with Alloya Corporate Federal Credit Union, with responsibility for the Connecticut, Rhode Island and Massachusetts markets. Janovic has nearly three decades of credit union experience and is a trustee of the Credit Union League of Connecticut Charitable Foundation and a member of the league’s Grassroots Committee. She also serves as the treasurer of the Chanticlair Women’s Golf League of Colchester.
“Annette brings a wide range of experience to our Board of Directors that will serve us well as Charter Oak continues to grow and expand across eastern Connecticut,” said Guy Henry, Chairman of Charter Oak’s Board of Directors. “She’s active in her local community and also takes an active role in the credit union industry here in Connecticut as well as on the national level. Annette’s also been a strong advocate for our members and remains committed to the continuing success and financial growth of Charter Oak,” he said.
Janovic is replacing Michael Malvinni, who is retiring after more than three decades of service to Charter Oak as both a Supervisory Committee member and as a Board member. Malvinni, who is an Ashaway, R.I., resident, was appointed to Charter Oak’s Supervisory Committee in 1982 and began his service on the Board of Directors in 1984. “Mike has given an extraordinary amount of his time and talents to Charter Oak for thirty-four years, which we are grateful for, and he will be missed by all of us at Charter Oak,” said Henry.
