Charter Oak Names Stout to Supervisory Committee

WATERFORD, Conn.– The Board of Directors of Charter Oak Federal Credit Union has appointed Richard W. Stout III to serve on its Supervisory Committee, which has oversight and audit responsibilities for Charter Oak’s seven-member Board of Directors.

“We’re pleased to have someone with Rick’s broad experience on our Supervisory Committee,” said Guy Henry, Chairman of Charter Oak’s Board of Directors. “Rick has a strong background in financial services and financial planning, as well as lending, credit review and analysis, and those skills will serve him well in his new role with Charter Oak’s Supervisory Committee,” said Henry.

Stout is a Principal and Owner of Benchmark Wealth Management based in Old Lyme and has 23 years of experience in the financial services industry. He is a Certified Financial Planner and also has extensive background experience in lending, credit review and analysis, and real estate partnership management.

Stout, who lives in Old Lyme, has been designated by Connecticut Magazine as a Five Star Wealth Manager in 2010, 2012, 2013, 2014, and 2015. He earned a Master of Science degree in Personal Financial Planning from the College of Financial Planning. He attained his Master’s Degree in Business Administration through Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute and his Bachelor of Arts degree in economics and anthropology from the University of Connecticut. 

In addition, he completed the Accredited Wealth Management Advisor program through the Estate and Wealth Strategies Institute at Michigan State University.
