Chartway Breaks Ground on South Salt Lake City Branch

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah–Chartway Federal Credit Union broken ground at the site of a new, modern, full-service branch being built by design-build firm NewGround in South Salt Lake City.

Located at 2210 South State Street in South Salt Lake, Chartway said it combined research, expertise in design, and member feedback to develop a contemporary space that will allow members to choose from a variety of self-, assisted-, and full-service options.

“The way consumers are banking has changed significantly,” said Brian Schools, president & CEO of Chartway Federal Credit Union. “What we’ve found is that members want access to the people and the professional guidance they need and the technology that supports their on-the-go lifestyles. That’s why we are excited to offer a personalized experienced where members can interact with our employees and our technology on their terms.”

The 5,000-square-foot branch will replace its 1700 South branch location with modern, inviting, and engaging spaces. It will also offer new, interactive technology to improve the ease, speed, and efficiency in which members can conduct their business, including Direct Teller – an Interactive Teller Machine (ITM), the credit union said. Beyond convenience, this technology significantly improves current drive-thru waiting lines by reducing transaction processing times by as much as 50%, it added.

Staples of the existing branch, including a full-service teller line, deposit account services, consumer lending, mortgage lending, safe deposit boxes, a night depository, and comfortable, private offices where members can discuss their personal financial needs, will remain intact at the new location.

A spring 2019 construction completion date is anticipated for the new branch.
