VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. Chartway FCU said that three people have been elected to its board:
- E. L. “Lou” Gull, Jr. re-elected to 3-year term: “Lou Gull is a seasoned leader who has held a variety of volunteer positions at the credit union for nearly 35 years, including serving as chairman, 1st vice chairman, and 2nd vice chairman of its board of directors. He has also served as chairman for both the CUSO board and the supervisory committee, and strengthened the credit union as a member of the human resource, pension, volunteer recruitment & development and technology committees. Gull has also held committee positions for organizations including the National Association of Federal Credit Union, Credit Union National Association and the Virginia Credit Union League. In 2008, Gull was honored as NAFCU’s Volunteer of the Year for credit unions over $150M in assets. Gull serves as a Docent with the Hampton Roads Naval Museum in Norfolk, Virginia. He earned a Bachelor of Science degree in business administration from Old Dominion University, is a Vietnam-Era Veteran, and retired from Federal Service after 36 years of service. He has been married to his wife Janet for more than 40 years; they have two children.
- Richard Ahlborn, re-elected to 3-year term: Richard Ahlborn has been a member of the board since 2013 and has dutifully volunteered on many committees, including new service, legislative, and volunteer advance training committees. He has served as the chairman of the supervisory committee for 10 years. Ahlborn retired from the Naval Aviation Depot as a production superintendent and served as an election official in the state of Virginia for nine years.
- Dallas England, re-elected to 3-year term: Dallas England joined Chartway as a supervisory committee member in 1994, and has notably impacted the Credit Union with his participation in Chartway’s volunteer advanced training program, the directors’ scholarship committee, the loan review committee, nominating committee, strategic development committee, the pension investment committee, and the asset/liability management committee. He has served on the board of directors for eight years. England joined Chartway as a volunteer following more than 40 years of service for the federal civil service; he was a production superintendent before retiring. He has been married 48 years, and has two children and three grandchildren.
