Chartway FCU Hosts Fun Fest to Mark New Branch

NORFOLK, Va.–Chartway FCU recently hosted a Friday Fun Fest to celebrate its newly remodeled branch in the Southern Shopping Center here. The event featured tailgate-themed activities, giveaways, music, a Shred-It truck, kid’s activities, and a raffle for a chance to win football tickets that benefited Chartway’s We Promise Foundation.

Helping to mark the celebration were Priscilla Monte, senior vice president, programs & communications for the Hampton Roads Chamber of Commerce; Tage Counts, director of membership development for the Hampton Roads Chamber of Commerce; J&A Racing; and Eric Worden from 93.7 Bob FM.

Chartway FCU said the newly renovated Southern Shopping Center branch features modern, inviting and engaging member spaces and new technology to improve the ease, speed, and efficiency in which members can conduct their business, including Direct Tellers, which are Interactive Teller Machines (ITM) that allow members to speak with a live teller using two-way video from the convenience of their car. The Direct Teller Machines significantly improve current drive-thru waiting lines by reducing transaction processing times by as much as 50%. Members who used one of the Direct Teller machines at Southern Shopping Center branch during the event were automatically entered to win a $500 cash prize.

“At Chartway, we’re in the process of modernizing all our branches like Southern – creating colorful, contemporary spaces that allow members to benefit from the professional guidance they need and technology that supports their evolving needs,” said CEO Brian Schools. “In fact, Chartway is the first credit union in Hampton Roads to deploy NCR 80 series ITM technology. We currently have introduced 13 ITMs and look forward to offering this convenient service in even more locations soon.”
