RICHMOND, Va.– Chartway FCU’s We Promise Foundation has made awarded a $75,000 grant to Make-A-Wish Greater Virginia, a nonprofit that grants life-changing wishes to children diagnosed with critical illnesses. The grant will help fund the wishes of approximately 15 children this year in the Tidewater region.
“We can only get closer to achieving our vision of granting every eligible child’s wish through the generous support of our community,” said Sheri Lambert, president and CEO of Make-A-Wish Greater Virginia. “We are truly grateful for the continued support from Chartway Federal Credit Union’s We Promise Foundation. This grant will help more local children experience the strength and hope provided by a wish-come-true.”
We Promise Foundation Executive Director Karen Lane said the credit union’s charitable arm is a proud supporter of Make-A-Wish Greater Virginia. “For children facing medical hardship or illness, having the chance to experience a wish can be life-changing,” she said. “That’s why we could not be more honored to partner with Make-A-Wish Greater Virginia to bring joy, hope, and smiles to deserving heroes right here in Hampton Roads.”
