LIVONIA, Mich.–Christian Financial Credit Union said it is partnering with the Just Getting By (JGB) campaign to tell the story of Just Delicious Scones & The Royal Treat Team Room and how its owner, Jennifer Colombo, was able to grow her business with the help of her credit union.
“Like many small business owners, Jennifer struggled to create sustainable growth. With help and guidance from Christian Financial, she went from a $50 Craigslist oven and an empty building, to a successful bakery and tea room that now supplies 40 retailers across the state of Michigan,” CFCU said.
As part of Christian Financial Credit Union and Jennifer’s involvement, JGB is producing a series of videos and graphics to share on the campaign’s Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram pages. The Just Getting By movement began in 2015 when the Michigan Credit Union League (MCUL) looked for an opportunity to make a difference in the lives of struggling Americans. The answer became Just Getting By – a feature-length documentary featuring the stories of financial hardship experienced by people across the nation, noted CFCU. As the team quickly discovered, there were too many stories to tell in one film, and the issues at the heart of the conversation — a fundamental lack of financial literacy and a general reluctance to talk about our personal finances — were too widespread to address without taking a more hands-on approach.
Today, Just Getting By is produced by CU Solutions Group’s CUBE TV Studios, MCUL’s league service corporation.
