Clearview FCU Presents Award, Donation

PITTSBURGH–Clearview Federal Credit Union has presented the 2018 Joseph C. Cirelli Community Service Award to Bonnie Nichols for her work with Living in Liberty.

Living in Liberty is an organization whose goal is to restore dignity and freedom to victims of human trafficking. They offer secure safe houses, participate in outreach with victims on the streets, and educate the community at large about prevention in our communities and worldwide, the credit union said.

The Joseph C. Cirelli Community Service Award was created to recognize a person who provides outstanding service to his/her community. The award is named in honor of former Clearview president and CEO, Joseph Cirelli, who served the Credit Union for 35 years and also supported several charities and causes.

“The Joseph C. Cirelli Community Service Award is something we are very proud of because it brings awareness to an individual in the community who is making a significant difference. The work Bonnie has done for Living in Liberty and the impact the organization has had in the community made her a perfect candidate to receive this award, ” said Ron Celaschi, president and CEO of Clearview.

Nominated for the award by her daughter-in-law, Bonnie Nichols has volunteered with Living in Liberty since 2013, and leads street outreach to help meet the immediate needs of those at risk and share knowledge of the programs the organization has to offer. In addition to Nichols receiving the Joseph C. Cirelli Community Service Award, Clearview contributed a $2,500 donation to Living in Liberty, which will be used to help expand their reach to additional communities in Southwestern Pennsylvania.
