RALEIGH, N.C.– The Coastal Credit Union Foundation has announced grants of $78,000 to five community organizations in central North Carolina.
“As a cooperative, Coastal Credit Union has a philanthropic arm, the Coastal Credit Union Foundation,” said Emily Nail, executive director of the Coastal Foundation. “Our foundation strives to help solve problems around financial well-being and affordable housing in the communities we serve. We are able to do this by funding requests from non-profit organizations in our service territory. We also support their efforts with Coastal Credit Union employee volunteer hours.”
The Foundation’s grantees for the second quarter of 2023 include:
- Refugee Community Partnership, $10,000
- Housing for New Hope, $40,000
- Triangle South Literacy Works, $5,00
- Southeast Raleigh Community Learning Center, $13,000
- Benevolence Farm, $10,000
The Coastal Credit Union Foundation focuses on funding projects in four key areas: promoting financial well-being, increasing affordable housing, supporting financial education, and improving access to resources.
Year to date, the Foundation has contributed $150,000 to 10 community organizations.
