Columbia CU Helps Two Non-Profits

VANCOUVER, Wash.–In honor of local veterans, Columbia Credit Union recently donated $13,900 to two nonprofit agencies: Vancouver Community Military Appreciation Committee (CMAC) and Home with Heroes. The donations were made in connection with the credit union’s Veterans Appreciation Vehicle Loan promotion.

Columbia Credit Union’s loan promotion ran Oct. 17 through Veterans Day, Nov. 11, 2016. During this period, for every new or used vehicle loan of $15,000 or more opened direct or online, Columbia Credit Union pledged to donate $100 to Home with Heroes and Vancouver Community Military Appreciation Committee (CMAC). Columbia Credit Union members took out a total of 139 auto, RV and boat loans that qualified for the Veterans Appreciation Vehicle Loan promotion.

As a result, Columbia Credit Union said it donated $13,900 to Vancouver CMAC and Home with Heroes, and each agency received a check for $6,950. The funds were presented to both agencies during a celebration held Dec. 1 at Columbia Credit Union’s Operations Center.

“We’re proud to pay tribute to those who’ve dedicated their lives to making life better for us,” said Columbia Credit Union President and CEO Steve Kenny. “Vancouver CMAC and Home with Heroes are two great nonprofit organizations that honor and thank our local veterans for their service through community events and outdoor activities. Columbia Credit Union is pleased to support these organizations’ great work.”
