VANCOUVER, Wash. - Columbia Credit Union welcomes Ryan Olsen as Vice President of Lending Operations. Olsen will be responsible for delivering consistent and compliant consumer loan processing and servicing across all delivery channels on behalf of the credit union. He will have oversight of loan quality and growth goals, including the development and administration of underwriting guidelines. He will also manage vendor and dealer relationships; have oversight of loan operations staff and supervisors; and assist in advancing the strategic direction of the credit union.
“Ryan has extensive experience in nearly all aspects of credit union lending,” said Columbia Credit Union SVP of Consumer Lending, Jeff Havener. “As we work to expand our footprint across all areas of lending, his contributions will help us reach higher levels of efficiency and enhanced service.”
Olsen most recently served as director of lending for a Washington credit union where he managed lending product lines and staff, increasing indirect loan volume by 400 percent while decreasing default risk over a period of 24 months. Other previous positions include member solutions lobby manager/loan officer and consumer and indirect loan manager. A native of the Pacific Northwest, Olsen is a graduate of Hudson’s Bay High School. He holds a bachelor’s degree in sociology from Western Washington University and graduated with high honors from Western CUNA Management School (WCMS).
An active volunteer, Olsen participates on United Way funds distribution committees and serves on the WCMS Alumni Association Board. He also serves on the CUNA Lending Council’s membership committee and is active in chapter activities. In 2014, he re‐started the Northwest Corner chapter of the Northwest Credit Union Association and served as past Chapter Board President.
“I am excited to work for an organization that cares about its members, the community and our environment,” said Olsen. “I look forward to shaping the future of lending operations at Columbia CU and seeing the benefits for members and staff.”
