NEW HAVEN, Conn. –Throughout September, Connex Credit Union partnered with Credit Unions for Kids during its national Miracle Jeans Day promotion. The credit union collected donations from members and employees for Children’s Miracle Network Hospital: Connecticut Children’s Medical Center in Hartford. Employees that donated $5 or more were permitted to wear jeans to work on one day.
Donations were made at all local Connex branches, as well as through the Miracle Jeans Day website. This campaign was part of ConnexCares, Connex’s philanthropic initiative, and the credit union pledged to match contributions up to $1,000. This goal was eventually achieved and a check worth $2,000 was recently presented to Connecticut Children’s Medical Center. This donation will help the hospital staff continue conducting breakthrough research and implementing life-saving equipment, the credit union said.
“It warmed my heart to witness the selfless contributions from both Connex employees and members to support Miracle Jeans Day,” said Carl Casper, vice president of customer advocacy, Connex Credit Union. “Making a difference within the communities that have embraced us is a core value of our company and we are elated for the opportunity to help improve the quality of life for the young patients of Connecticut Children’s Medical Center.”
