DALLAS–Credit Union of America awarded $10,000 in student scholarships to college‐bound students at a celebratory dinner with students and their parents. Applicants were required to have a minimum cumulative grade point average (GPA) of 3.0 and be a high school senior graduating in 2018 or undergraduate student, age 24 or under.
Scholarship winners were chosen by a group of CUA staff and member‐volunteers after reviewing blind applications that outlined GPA, community and school involvement, and an essay. Students were asked to submit an essay explaining the measures they have taken to become financially literate and how that knowledge influenced their life.
CUA said it is pleased to contribute to the education of our community youth and congratulates the students and their families for the efforts they’ve made in both their education and their contributions to our local communities.
