HOUSTON–Cy-Fair Federal Credit Union awarded Angie Peña of Danish Elementary a new Dodge Journey during the Cy-Fair Education Foundation’s (CFEF) annual Salute to the Stars gala. The annual event celebrates the contributions of all Cy-Fair Independent School District (CFISD) educators and recognizes the top teachers, para-educators and support personnel from across the district.
CFISD principals selected more than 90 “Teacher of the Year Honorees” for their outstanding dedication to students and incredible work in CFISD schools. During the Salute to the Stars gala, honorees were entered into Cy-Fair FCU’s New Car Giveaway which awarded Peña a brand-new Dodge Journey, thanks in part to Northwest Dodge.
“I really wanted to fall on my knees and thank God right then and there,” said Peña. “I didn’t actually believe it until they said Danish Elementary. God bless CFISD, CyFair FCU, and Northwest Dodge.”
Cy-Fair FCU was again the event underwriter as part of its “Community Only Better” initiative - a $500,000, 10-year pledge to Cy-Fair community schools, small businesses, and students.
“Teachers are an integral part of educating and shaping our children, and this is just one way we try to recognize and thank them for their dedication to the Cy-Fair community,” said Cy-Fair FCU President and CEO Cameron Dickey. “Cy-Fair was founded by and for teachers, and we remain committed to supporting those who pour so much into our youngest community members.”
