COLUMBIA, Md. – Credit unions and business partners came together to help raise more than $59,000 for Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals (CMN Hospitals) at the Credit Union Miracle Day’s Annual Charity Golf Classic.
One hundred and twenty golfers participated in the Play Yellow tournament at Hobbit’s Glen Golf Club in Columbia, Md.
As its charity of choice, the credit union industry has raised more than $150 million for CMN Hospitals over the past 25 years.
“I want to thank our credit unions and business partners for their generous support, in particular event sponsor Credit Union Miracle Day and CO-OP Solutions for its Miracle Match Program,” said John Bratsakis, board chair of Credit Union Miracle Day and president/CEO of MD|DC Credit Union Association. “Through their continued support of Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals, the credit union industry is helping families access the specialized care provided by children’s hospitals. It’s a great example of how the collaborative spirit of credit unions has a real impact on communities and makes a meaningful difference in the lives of children facing serious health challenges.”
Money raised will fund critical treatments and healthcare services, pediatric medical equipment, and charitable care at two local CMN Hospitals - Children’s National in Washington, D.C., and Johns Hopkins Children’s Center in Baltimore.
“Children’s National Hospital is incredibly grateful for our partnership with our local credit unions. Funds raised through events like the Play Yellow Charity Golf Classic directly improve the lives of children and families right here in our community,” said Meredith Demeria, Sr. Associate Director, Children's Miracle Network Hospitals at Children's National Hospital Foundation. “Thank you to Credit Union Miracle Day for your support and continued commitment to improving children’s health.”
