MIDLAND, Mich.–The Midland Daily News announced that DCECU has been voted the No. 1 Credit Union in the newspaper’s 2018 Readers’ Choice Awards. This is the fourth consecutive year that DCECU has received the award.
“Four years in a row of taking first place in the Readers’ Choice Awards truly is an honor,” said DCECU President/CEO Dennis Hanson. “We appreciate all the votes of confidence and are grateful to serve our community on multiple levels – not just strictly by conducting typical credit union business.”
For example, DCECU recently has supported Garber’s Chevrolet’s “Stuff the Bus” event, which collects school supplies for early childhood programs throughout the county; collected food and personal care items to support local pantries, and donated 125 new pairs of gloves and mittens for distribution to Beaverton (Mich.) Elementary School students. Employees also routinely participate in community clean-up and building projects.
“DCECU is proud to answer the call to help improve our community through volunteer service and by sharing both our collective and our individual resources,” Hanson said.
DCECU noted that during the past decade it has given back nearly $114 million to members, including more than $17.6 million for 2017.
