DakCU Names CUSocial Good Winners

RAPID CITY, S.D.–During the Dakota Credit Union Association (DakCU) awards banquet, two Dakota credit unions were recognized for their outstanding social impact achievements.

“While many people were suffering during the pandemic, credit unions stepped up in a very big way,” the association said. “In 2021, credit unions across the country reported more than $54 million in donations to charitable causes, community organizations, essential workers, and hospitals through the CUSocialGood platform, along with over 10,000 volunteer hours.”

In the northern plains, North Dakota credit unions contributed over $163,000 in direct community impact, while South Dakota logged over $830,000 in community impact. The CUSocialGood Award recognizes one credit union in each asset category that has positively affected the community and the Dakota credit union movement.

This year’s winners are:

  • Norstar Federal Credit Union, Britton, S.D. – $26M to $125M in assets.
