Del Norte CU Donates More Than $130K

SANTE FE, N.M. –Del Norte Credit Union (DNCU) said it made more than $130,000 in donations to various philanthropic efforts in Sandoval County during 2021.

The contributions accompanied the northern New Mexico financial mainstay’s 2021 debut of its first branch in Rio Rancho, located on Rio Rancho Boulevard and just south of Highway 550.

“Opening our first branch in Rio Rancho earlier this year served as an opportunity for Del Norte Credit Union to introduce ourselves to an entirely new community,” remarked Chuck Valenti, DNCU president/CEO. “With Rio Rancho facing challenges, both similar and different to northern New Mexico, we were ready to adjust the focus of our charitable efforts in the area for maximum positive effect.”

In 2021, DNCU made more than $130,000 in total contributions toward a diverse set of initiatives supporting emergency service workers, food and clothing drives, shelters, small business awareness and more alongside sponsorships, grant-making and scholarships awarded by the Del Norte LOV Foundation, an independent 501(c)3 nonprofit organization established in 2018.
