Del-One Supports Habitat for Humanity, Animal Rescue

NEWARK, Del.–Del-One Foundation and Del-One Credit Union have donated $2,000 to Central Delaware Habitat for Humanity, while also supporting local animal rescue.

Central Delaware Habitat for Humanity was chosen by the Del-One Foundation as a 2018 initiative, and the Foundation was able to be a platinum event sponsor as well as donate an additional $2,000 to this worthy organization.

The CDHFH works to “revitalize our Kent County communities by building and repairing quality homes in partnership with families in need,” the credit union said.

Separately, the Del-One Foundation donated $1,000 to Doggone Happy Animal Rescue, a non-profit, foster-based organization who “rescues, vets and loves their furbabies until adoption.” The rescue was founded by Dawn Mitchell, who came across a Facebook post one day about a pit bull whose time was up at a shelter in California, so she pulled her from the shelter, arranged transport to Delaware, and Doggone Happy Animal Rescue was formed.  She has since recruited fosters to help provide temporary loving homes for these dogs, which are fully vetted once in the rescue’s care, and adopters are carefully screened to ensure they are a perfect match.
