Del. League's Guest Bartending Event Raises Funds

NEW CASTLE, Del.–The First Annual Guest Bartending event, held recently by the Delaware Credit Union League’s Young Professionals  Network (YPN), resulted in $4,568.61 raised to benefit the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP) Health & Wellness Garden, through the Credit Unions for Kids and the Children’s Miracle Network (CMN).

More than 150 people attended the event, held at the beautiful FireStone Roasting House’s outdoor bar and lounge. “Celebrity” bartenders from the credit union movement brought new meaning to serving the community as everyone enjoyed the view of Wilmington’s Riverfront while relaxing and listening to live music.

A 25% “miracle match” from CO-OP Financial Services as part of its Miracle Match program netted an additional $1,142.15 – bringing the total donation to $5,710.76. This $1 million annual matching funds program matches contributions at the local level, expanding the contributions raised by credit unions for Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals.

Bernadette Hines, League Education & YPN Director, worked hard behind the scenes to ensure success at the event and to secure the additional funding provided by the CO-OP Miracle Match, the DCUL said.
