Denver Community CU Staff Volunteer Time

DENVER – All Denver Community Credit Union staff volunteered at six sites during their second annual #DenverCommunityGives Day.   Volunteer projects supported Metro Caring’s anti-hunger programs and Volunteers of America Colorado’s clients, which included at-risk children, women, seniors, and homeless community members.

Eighty-seven Denver Community employees volunteered a combined 455 hours, which is an estimated value of $11,200 to the nonprofit organizations they supported.

On #DenverCommunityGives Day, credit union staff painted emergency shelter rooms for families in crisis, sorted and packaged food donations, wrote letters to veterans and Meals on Wheels recipients, made fleece blankets and hygiene kits, played BINGO with seniors, read to at-risk children, and cleaned affordable housing and preschool facilities.

With the financial support of the Mountain West Credit Union Foundation, Denver Community purchased paint and supplies to revitalize ten emergency shelter rooms at Volunteers of America Colorado’s Family Motel.

#DenverCommunityGives Day aligns with Denver Community Credit Union’s vision of “Advancing financial opportunity” by making a difference in the lives of our community members, the credit union said.
