POTTSTOWN, Penn.–Diamond Credit Union held its twelfth Annual Charity Golf Invitational in support of the American Cancer Society Relay For Life. Despite some rainy conditions the event was a huge success, raising $32,000 for the Relay. More than 200 golfers attended the event with umbrellas and rain gear in-hand, eager to support the cause and have a fun day.
“This is one of my favorite annual fundraisers because we really get every one of our vendors and partners involved in sponsoring or attending. It’s everyone coming together that really makes the event a success. That and our golf planning team who takes care of every last detail except, of course, for the weather, which no one can control. Hey, it’s a shame about the rain, but everyone is having a great time anyway! And we’re all here to help beat cancer. We can surely deal with a little rain for an afternoon if it means fewer people have to live with cancer every day,” stated John Faust, President/CEO.
Diamond’s Annual Golf Invitational is the largest fundraiser that the Diamond’s Hope Relay Team hosts throughout a year-long string of events. There is also a Beef and Beer, Wine Tasting, two separate Bag Bingo events, Glow Golf in the Fall, and various bake sales and branch-level efforts. Over the past 12 years, the golf event has raised more than $315,000 alone, adding to a total Relay donation of over $646,000 and counting.
