POTTSTOWN, Penn.–Diamond Credit Union has been a strong supporter of the American Cancer Society Relay For Life for 10 years, with the entire staff and board taking a personal role in making a measurable difference in the fight against cancer.
Even with this history, Diamond’s President/CEO, John Faust, was taken by surprise when Dee Mathis of the American Cancer Society took what was intended to be a simple check presentation and turned it into an award ceremony. Together with representatives from the Berks County and Pottstown Relay For Life, Mathis presented Faust and the Diamond Team with a Corporate Excellence Award during the closing ceremony of the Annual Diamond Charity Golf Invitational.
“This award…is designed to recognize workplaces that have gone above and beyond to embrace the full scope of the ACS relationship,” said Mathis. “We know that Diamond Credit Union is a truly outstanding partner in the fight against cancer engaging in team building, volunteerism and fundraising through Relay For Life participation in two counties and executive engagement through the Greater Lehigh Valley Volunteer Leadership Council. We cannot thank you enough for being our partner. Congratulations!”
In addition to this great honor, Diamond said it was also proud to announce their 2015 Relay For Life total donation of $80,000. This total, combined with the previous years, brings the 10 year total to over $646,000. This was made possible by the combined efforts of every Diamond employee with support from members, Business Partners, and vendors. In 2015, the Diamond team hosted several fundraisers including the Annual Charity Golf Invitational; Dance and Chance—Music, Beef, & Beer; Winner’s Choice Bingo featuring Designer Bags and Jewelry; Less Barking, More Wineing: Wine Tasting Event; Bake Sales and Hot Dog Days; Coffee Sales, Calendar Sales, Jeans Days, and so much more!
