MIDLAND, Mich.–Staff at Dow Chemical Employees CU recently participated in two volunteer opportunities: Midland County Habitat for Humanity’s Women Build Week and an Adopt-A-Street cleanup project.
Over two days, 16 DCECU employees volunteered for Midland County Habitat for Humanity’s Women Build Week, an annual event that empowers women to serve as housing construction volunteers – a Habitat for Humanity volunteer role in which women typically are significantly underrepresented, according to the organization.
In addition, five DCECU employees cleaned litter from a stretch of the boulevard area near the credit union – between East Lyon and East Patrick roads, from Lincoln Street to Washington Street, including around the bicycle and pedestrian path that runs through the boulevard – through the Adopt-A-Street program.
“Spring and summer are very active seasons for our DCECU volunteers,” said DCECU President/CEO Dennis Hanson. “As always, we are proud to serve the local community and support the efforts of our employees who so enthusiastically choose to volunteer for a host of community service activities throughout the year.”
