WETHERSFELD, Conn.-- Eleven employees of Dutch Point Credit Union were among 6,000 walkers who teamed up to raise funds for the fight against breast cancer at Making Strides of Hartford.
Credit union staff were able to raise $2,672 for the event, which includes the credit union’s contribution of $500. For nine weeks staff wore pink shirts with jeans on Fridays for a $5 donation. The 11 walking team members personally raised $1,450 through their own efforts on social media and word of mouth.
