WETHERSFIELD, Conn.– Dutch Point Credit Union, a community credit union serving more than 21,000 members throughout Connecticut, is pleased to announce the winners of the 2015 Dorothy J. Sullivan Scholarship program. Five recipients were each awarded $1,000 to assist in their first year of college.
The scholarships were awarded based on academic record, leadership qualities and community involvement. The program was created to honor the achievements of Dorothy J. Sullivan, the credit union’s previous President and CEO and first employee. Her vision to support higher education continues as Dutch Point Credit Union provides financial assistance to high school students pursuing a college degree. The program is open to any high school Senior within Dutch Point’s membership communities, including Hartford, New London, New Haven and Middlesex counties.
The 2015 scholarship recipients are:
- Lindsay Bluestein, Rocky Hill High School
- Michael Boni, Conard High School
- Harley Ann Bouchard, Newington High School
- Natalie Charette, Coginchaug Regional
- Emily Gunter, Classical Magnet School
