BURTON, Mich. –ELGA Credit Union raised $40,435 to benefit Hurley Children’s Hospital – Flint’s Children’s Miracle Network (CMN) hospital, at its 2nd annual fundraising event, “Raise the Purse.”
“We can’t thank ELGA Credit Union enough for this amazing gift, “said Linda Tracy-Stephens, Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals Director. “We’d like to thank the entire Raise the Purse committee and the guests who attended this fun-filled evening. Their support means the world to us.”
Hurley Children’s Hospital is a nationally recognized pediatric program providing the most outstanding clinical care for children and their families, and is a CMN Hospital
A portion of the donation will purchase a much-needed, compact portable cardiorespiratory (CR) monitor for the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) babies at Hurley. The streamlined design of this equipment makes it efficient for use when the need to resuscitate a baby is required. It is convenient for transporting patients, using it for emergencies, and bringing it to delivery rooms and making a life-changing difference to Hurley's youngest patients.
“ELGA Credit Union is committed to supporting causes that are important to our associates and to our communities. Our Hurley Children’s Hospital serves the needs of so many and we’re honored to have the opportunity to put together a fun event like Raise the Purse to raise money while highlighting the generosity of those that sponsored and attended the event,” said Terry Katzur, CEO of ELGA Credit Union.
The ladies night out attendees bid on and purchased new and used designer purses and packages that included a specialty bag donated by Saks Fifth Avenue, dinner with WJRT news anchor, Angie Hendershot and several high end designer bags donated by sponsors.
Attendees enjoyed a fun evening, including an Italian dinner and wine bar, the credit union said.
