OSWEGO, Ill.—Earthmover Credit Union has awarded $10,000 in Teen College Scholarships to five local high school graduates, with each student receiving a $2,000 scholarship based on academic achievement and an essay describing a time their beliefs were challenged.
The 2026 scholarship recipients are Lucas Orozco, who will attend the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign to study mechanical engineering; Ruth Oudyn, who will begin at Waubonsee Community College before transferring to the University of Illinois Chicago to study nursing; Lucas Schuster, who will attend Northern Illinois University for biomedical engineering; Saralisse Morales, who will study speech and hearing science at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign; and Owen Cousins, who will attend the University of Notre Dame to study economics.
Earthmover Credit Union said this year's $10,000 scholarship program represents a significant increase from previous years and reflects the credit union's continued commitment to supporting education and investing in the communities it serves.
