BURNSVILLE, Minn.–To celebrate the holiday season, Firefly Credit Union hosted an employee-wide Volunteer Fair, and sparked a desire to give back among employees. A handful of organizations gathered together at the corporate office for an evening full of fun, food and generosity.
The diverse group of organizations included:
· American Cancer Society
· Big Brothers Big Sisters
· The Sheridan Story
· Special Olympics Minnesota
· Wags & Whiskers Animal Rescue
· Community Action Partnership
· Memorial Blood Centers
· Feed My Starving Children
Employees who attended the fair were awarded with a $5 donation ticket provided by Firefly Credit Union, as well as a chance to win $50 donation tickets throughout the event, in which they could distribute to the organization of their choice.
“It was a great way for employees to interact one-on-one with these organizations, ask questions and even sign up for volunteer opportunities,” Firefly said.
More than 100 employees attended the fair, raising over $1,000 in donations.
“The volunteer fair was a huge success and a great way for employees to learn more about the different organizations in our community,” said Dale Turner, president/CEO of Firefly Credit Union.
