BURNSVILLE, Minn.–Firefly Credit Union has awarded four scholarships totaling $1,000 to offset the expenses of local DECA students participating in the Personal Financial Literacy event at the upcoming International Career Development Conference (ICDC) in Atlanta.
“DECA provides career development for students in a variety of industries including marketing, finance, and management,” said Marty Kelly, Senior Vice President/CMO at Firefly Credit Union. “The students who advanced to state are exemplary examples of the DECA program’s mission. Firefly is a proud supporter financial education, and is honored to help these four students as they advance to the national conference in Atlanta.”
The credit union presented the four scholarships after sponsoring and serving as judges for the Personal Financial Literacy event held at the Minnesota DECA State Conference. Sixty students across the state participated in the event.
