Firefly Lights Way in Adult Financial Education

BURNSVILLE, Minn.–Firefly Credit Union won the first place national 2016 Desjardins Adult Financial Education Award for its leadership within the credit union movement on behalf of adult financial literacy.

Firefly’s Learn@Work program advanced to the national competition after winning Minnesota statewide honors.

Going up against tough competition, Firefly is grateful for their first place win. In attendance at CuNA’s GAC to receive the award were Firefly employees Reyna Staats and Xiong Lee, who work in the Business Development department and had a large influence in the implementation of the Learn@Work program.

“It is always humbling to be rewarded for something you put a lot of time and effort into, but receiving this award was extra special to us,” said Reyna Staats, Firefly’s Business Development Manager. “The continuous energy we put into this program is worth it when you see the impact it has on these different workplaces. Financial literacy is important and we are always challenging ourselves to evolve and guide our community members forward.”
