BURNSVILLE, Minn.– Firefly Credit Union recently won two awards recognizing outstanding marketing and business development achievements in the credit union industry.
The awards were presented by the CUNA Marketing & Business Development Council, a national network comprised of over 1,300 credit union marketing and business development professionals. Awards are given in each of 35 categories ranging from advertising to community events and beyond.
Firefly received a CUNA Diamond award for the design of its 2016 Annual Report – reflecting on the first year of the credit union’s complete rebrand.
“The purpose of our 2016 Annual Report was to capture the successes we had during our first year as Firefly Credit Union,” said Courtney Banker, Marketing Lead at Firefly. “We not only wanted to share Firefly's strong financial well-being but to also demonstrate Firefly's commitment to Member Value, Education, Security, and our Communities in 2016.”
Additionally, Firefly was awarded with a Diamond Award for its continuing partnership with Burnsville High School; more specifically, the development of a new financial literacy curriculum developed for freshmen students.
“Two students, with help from their DECA advisors, approached Firefly for help in developing a new financial literacy curriculum for freshman students,” said Geoff Bullock, Community Engagement and Education Specialist at Firefly. “This meeting led to an exciting four-month process in which a massive 10-day financial literacy curriculum was created and delivered by 18 BHS teachers to more than 600 students.”
