First City CU Donates $16,000 to Area Hospitals

LOS ANGELES— First City Credit Union, through its Helping Hand promotion, raised and donated more than $16,000 to various area hospitals.

The credit union donated $10,000 to Children’s Hospital of Los Angeles, $2,500 to Los Angeles County (LAC) +USC Medical Center Pediatrics in Los Angeles, $1,000 to Antelope Valley Hospital in Lancaster, and $2,500 to Huntington Hospital in Pasadena.

During the fundraising effort, First City gave members opening a new checking account, $25 while also donating $25 on our member’s behalf.  The choice of hospitals receiving each donation was selected by the member.  These beneficiary hospitals are within First City’s sponsor groups, the credit union said.

“The efforts of our wonderful members and fantastic staff really made a difference that is going to benefit many people,” said First City CU CEO Jim Miller. “We thank everyone for participating in this worthwhile cause. We appreciate all of the new members who took advantage of the wonderful checking services we have to offer and we look forward to providing them a great First City experience. Most of all, we know that the real winners here are the patients of our amazing sponsors. Thanks to these sponsors, First City is here to lend a helping hand to our hospitals.”
