First Financial Donates More Than $40K

SPARKS-GLENCOE, Md.– First Financial Federal Credit Union (FFFCU) has donated more than $40,000 to organizations within the Baltimore County community.

First Financial recently provided a $25,000 sponsorship to support the Outstanding Young Women Leaders program through Towson University in partnership with Baltimore County Public Schools. First Financial has supported this program through financial sponsorship and volunteerism as various staff members serve as mentors to the students in the program.

Additionally, FFFCU made a $10,000 donation to benefit the critical operations across First Fruits Farm in Parkton, Md. First Fruits Farm grows, packages, and distributes fresh produce to over 100 organizations in the Mid-Atlantic region, including local food banks, homeless shelters, soup kitchens, and other food providers to assist individuals experiencing hunger. The Farm uses a volunteer workforce to plan and harvest their fields. First Financial employees have volunteered at First Fruits Farm for six years, and plan to continue this volunteer effort annually.

Prior to the new year, FFFCU joined WBAL Radio personalities for their annual live WBAL Kids Campaign broadcast at Valley View Farms in Cockeysville, MD for the fifth year. First Financial representatives presented an $8,000 check to benefit Baltimore youth. Funds raised go towards academic scholarships, summer programs, and grants to provide toys and basic needs for children and their families over the holiday season.

“Baltimore County has been an essential part of First Financial since our beginning in 1953,” said Eric Church, president and CEO of First Financial. “We are grateful for the opportunity to partner with these organizations and support their vital work in our community.”
