ALBANY, N.Y.–Noting that Capital Region residents who receive food stamps are not permitted to purchase personal hygiene products, not even toilet paper, First New York has collected 5,292 rolls of toilet paper and 2,280 rolls of paper towels from all branches and its headquarters.
First New York said its goal was to collect toilet paper and paper towels to share with Catholic Charities Tri-County Services, an agency made up of programs that assist the needy with the basic necessities of life.
