OKLAHOMA CITY, Okla. -Focus FCU is donating $10,000 to the Blanchard, Newcastle and Tuttle communities. The Oklahoma communities, also known as Tri-City, will each receive a portion of the $10,000 in conjunction with a savings initiative called REFITRI.
The goal of REFITRI is to save the Tri-City area $100,000 in loan interest and to donate $10,000 back to the community once Tri-City residents and workers reach that savings milestone.
“By refinancing existing loans or obtaining new loans at the low rates Focus FCU offers, people are saving money they can use for bills, debt reduction or back-to-school expenses. The average savings most members have seen is around $500!” says Della Davis, Focus FCU’s Tri-City Branch Manager.
Chandra Goodson, Director of Community Development added, “We are working closely with the local Chambers of Commerce and each has identified projects they would like to fund with their portion of the donation. Playground equipment, establishing an historical society and a community park enhancement are planned for 2016.
