BURNSVILLE, Minn.–Firefly Credit Union has been encouraging employees to get their steps in with a “Let’s CU Step into Summer” challenge supported by Hubbub Health, a program frequently used by Firefly’s Safety and Wellness Committee.
During a busy workday, it can be hard to remember to take a break and step away from your desk to get moving, the credit union said, noting walking is one of the easiest ways to incorporate more physical activity into a daily routine.
This summer, Firefly employees got together to engage in a friendly competition with other credit unions from across the country to see which company can average the most steps throughout the month of June.
With the goal of reaching 2,000,000 steps, Firefly employees ended well over with nearly 9,000,000 steps reached.
“Physical activity is a great benefit to your mental health, which makes for a great work environment,” said Bill Raker, Firefly Credit Union president/CEO. “To compete against credit unions from all over on something other than financial services was a unique experience that we were excited to be a part of!”
