FreeStar Financial Announces Board Changes

CLINTON TOWNSHIP, Mich. – FreeStar Financial Credit Union’s Board of Directors has accepted the resignation of Christina Nuttall, secretary, and elected a new Board member, Kristi Le, as her replacement.

Nuttall served over 22 years as a volunteer at the credit union. She was elected to the board in 2001, and held a dual role on the board from 2002–2013 as both the secretary and treasurer. In 2013, the positions were split and she remained as the secretary until her retirement. Prior to her election to the board of directors, she served on the supervisory committee conducting internal audits for the credit union from 1994–2001.  In addition to her service at the credit union, Nuttall retired in 2013 as a Management Analyst from the Selfridge Air National Guard Base.

Le, Chairperson of the Supervisory Committee, was appointed to replace Nuttall on the board and was nominated, by unanimous votes, for the open secretary position.  She has been a member of the supervisory committee since 2013 and has served as the chairperson since 2015. Le is a Tax Senior Manager specializing within the U.S. Global Mobility sector and has over 21 years of experience within the “Big 4” accounting firms.

Kristie Le

Le holds a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting from Michigan State University and a Master’s in Taxation from Walsh College. She is also a current member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Michigan Association of Certified Public Accountants.

“FreeStar Financial Credit Union members are lucky to have such a dedicated board overseeing policy,” said Drema Isaac, president/CEO. “We will certainly miss Christina Nuttall as she has been such a fixture at the credit union and in the community affecting change in our credit union. I’m confident Kristi Le will be able to fill the board and secretary role.”
