EL PASO, Texas— GECU has broken ground on its first branch in Odessa, marking the credit union's second Texas location outside the El Paso area as it continues to expand its footprint across West Texas.
The new branch, located at 4281 John Ben Shepperd Parkway, was celebrated during a July 15 ceremony attended by community leaders and GECU executives. The credit union said the expansion reflects its ongoing commitment to bringing financial services to more Texans while strengthening its presence in growing West Texas communities.
"For more than 90 years, GECU has focused on delivering the financial products and services people need to achieve their financial goals," President and CEO Alex Rascón said in a statement. "We are excited to open our doors in Odessa...We're honored to help local families and businesses turn their goals into lasting financial success."
To commemorate the groundbreaking, the GECU Foundation donated $7,000 to two Permian Basin nonprofits, presenting $3,500 each to Junior Achievement of the Permian Basin to support its financial education programs and to Permian Warrior Partnership, which provides employment, housing and other support services for veterans, their families and caregivers.
