TAMPA, Fla. –GTE Financial Credit Union has partnered with LifeLink, a non-profit organ and tissue recovery organization dedicated to serving patients in need of transplant therapy and their families.
The organization works in west central Florida, Georgia, and Puerto Rico to fulfill the life-saving dreams of those waiting to receive an organ transplant.
Currently, there are more than 5,800 Floridians, and more than 115,000 Americans are now waiting for organ transplants.
LifeLink was selected as the charity of the month by GTE Financial. The credit union teamed up with the organization to raise an overall goal of 10k and to create awareness on the critical topic of organ donation. It has used creative ways to fundraise, including raffles for Cinco De Mayo, a bake sale, sold Krispy Kreme donuts and flowers for Mother’s Day.
