TAMPA––With October National Breast Cancer Awareness Month, GTE Financial teamed up with Tampa Bay Mobile Mammography to offer free 3D mammograms to employees at its headquarters. The partnership resulted in 22 employees and one member getting screened.
“This exciting new technology has recently been FDA approved. The 3D Breast tomosynthesis converts digital breast images into a stack of very thin layers or ‘slices’ building what is essentially a three-dimensional mammogram,” the credit union said.
Over the last couple of years, GTE Financial said it has implemented and improved their health and wellness programs. Among these improvements are an employee wellness program, which pays staff for up to four hours each month for any wellness activity employees need.
