TAMPA, Fla.–GTE Financial Credit Union has won the Making a Difference Gold level Aetna Workplace Well-Being Award for the sixth consecutive year.
The award recognizes the credit union’s commitment to employee health and employees’ desire to live healthier, more active lives.
GTE’s LiveWell program, the credit union’s comprehensive wellness program, educates, engages, empowers, and supports employees to make impactful lifestyle behavior changes. Through LiveWell, GTE Financial said it promotes healthy lifestyles by providing an on-site gym and quarter-mile outdoor fitness track at headquarters, a monthly wellness allowance, ongoing education, and engagement activities.
“We’re honored to have received this award for the sixth consecutive year,” said Jasiel Legon, chief talent officer. “We are wholeheartedly committed to improving the health of our employees. Winning Gold is an honor, and we strive to inspire our employees to engage in their well-being journey.”
The award application and well-being program were honored based on GTE’s superior performance in thefollowing areas: established an exceptional program for over eight years, well-integrated program and resources, received support from executives and middle management, provided a budget with incentive rewards in place, offered worksite policies to support the health of GTE employees.
To qualify for the Aetna Workplace Well-Being Award, employers had to complete the application providing data from their most recent 12-month program year, such as their well-being strategy and design, communications and organizational engagement, and program implementation and evaluation.
The award is available to Aetna middle market and public and labor employer segments in the United States with a minimum of 100 employees. This includes fully insured and self-funded employers with an Aetna medical plan. A peer review committee consisting of well-being professionals with an average of 25 years of experience reviewed and scored all applications based on defined criteria.
