TAMPA, Fla.–GTE Financial Credit Union won two Diamond Awards from the CUNA Marketing & Business Development Council. GTE received the 2022 CUNA Diamond Award for its “Swipe it Forward” TV commercial series, while Cynthia Colon, GTE’s AVP-multicultural inclusion strategy, received the 2022 Marketing Professional of The Year Award, one of the most distinguished awards an individual and credit union can receive.
“The most reputable annual credit union marketing competition, the CUNA Diamond Awards recognizes marketing and business development achievements, including branding, campaigns, direct mail, social media, and video. CUNA judges evaluate entries based on strategy, production, design, creativity, copy, communication, and results,” GTE Financial said.
“We are so proud to have won this award for our work on the ‘Swipe it Forward’ campaign,” said Mandy Zurbrick, chief marketing officer of GTE Financial. “This commercial series is a testament to how doing business with GTE allows us to support our communities. We have donated millions of dollars to local charities, which would not be possible without our incredible members. As winner of the 2022 Marketing Professional of The Year Award, Colon was selected for exemplifying excellence in credit union marketing. Colon was honored for the work she has done in marketing to the Hispanic community.

This year’s CUNA Diamond Awards included 35 categories and 1,200+ entries. Over 85 credit unions won Category Best Awards, and 262 won Diamond Awards.
