Great Lakes Brightens Day For 47 People

BANNOCKBURN, Ill.–Great Lakes Credit Union’s (GLCU) North Chicago employees handed out McDonald’s and Dunkin Donuts gift cards throughout the day to 47 people who visited their branch.

“We are so delighted that our random act of kindness was so successful! The members in our branch were very pleased with the surprise gift cards,” said  Leilani Goldsmith, GLCU’s North Chicago Branch Manager.

All year long employees at GLCU branches will perform various random acts of kindness as a way to make a direct impact and give back to their communities.

Meanwhile, for the second year in a row, GLCU’s board has adopted an extraordinary plan to give back to its communities.

GLCU said its branch managers are working closely with their board members to find local charities to support on behalf of GLCU.

Don Curfman, GLCU Advisory Board Member, recently presented $3,000 to three unique organizations that have become staples within their community: the Crystal Lake Food Pantry, Horizons for the Blind, and the Senior Care Volunteer Network. GLCU is always happy to lend a helping hand to organizations doing extraordinary work throughout their communities, especially charities such as these, which play an integral part in their community.
