Great Lakes CU Supports Senior Care Volunteer Network

BANNOCKBURN, Ill.–In support of Great Lakes Credit Union’s (GLCU) initiative to support its communities, GLCU Supervisory Committee Member David Goles contributed $3,000 to Senior Care Volunteer Network (SCVN) of McHenry Countyon behalf of the credit union.

For the third year in a row, GLCU’s board has adopted an extraordinary plan to give back to its neighbors;branch managers of each GLCU location work closely with board members to support local charities.

Since 1998, SCVN has served all seniors, age 60 and over, who live in McHenry County or Sun City Huntley.  Their mission is to help seniors maintain their independence, dignity, and quality of life by remaining in their own homes or the home of a loved one for as long as possible.  Volunteers provide services such as transportation to life critical, life-sustaining as well as life-enriching destinations, friendly visits, minor home repairs, yard work, and shopping all at absolutely no charge to the senior.
