CAMBRIDGE, Mass.–More than 50 Harvard University Employee Credit Union employees and members participated in Brigham and Women’s Hospital’s Step Up for Stepping Strong Challenge during May.
The steps challenge raised money to support trauma patients at the Gillian Reny Stepping Strong Center for Trauma Innovation. Created after the Boston Marathon bombing, the Center’s mission is to transform carefor civilians and military heroes who suffer traumatic injuries.
“We walk every day and it was an honor for me to have my steps count towards supporting this great cause,” said CXO Tom Montilli. “It was also fun to see how far my colleagues walked.”
The step challenge exceeded its 500M steps goal and secured a $100,000 donation from CIGNA, in addition todonations from other corporate sponsors, including HUECU.
“The participation and generosity of corporate teams, such as HUECU, makes this event possible annually,”said Joe Marino, Corporate Partnerships, Brigham and Women’s Hospital Development Office.
