HAMPTON, Va.--Hampton Roads Educators’ Credit Union (HRECU) has been awarded a $10,000 grant to improve member experience with an updated website featuring a responsive design, simplified menu and navigation and the addition of a blog focusing on financial education.
The grant is one of $2 million awarded by NCUA to 203 low-income credit unions to help improve digital services and security, increase outreach to underserved communities, and train employees.
“At HRECU we are constantly looking for ways to improve our members’ experience and provide the most relevant content,” stated HRECU CEO/Manager Karen Orie. “The new website will make information easier to access and offer tools that will help increase financial knowledge.”
Alabama based SmartSource Solutions, LLC was selected to develop the new site.
“We’re proud to have been a partner of Hampton Roads Educators’ Credit Union since 2007,” stated SmartSource Vice President of Creative Development Brandon Derks. “Our staff is excited to work with the credit union to build their members a beautiful new online experience that is mobile-friendly and easy to navigate, while also emphasizing security and accessibility.”
